Meet the team at Fresha Cafe

First up is our Chef Steve who’s worked in celebrated restaurants in London and the South East.

Back in the day he worked at The Evening Standard’s Italian Restaurant of the Year Cibo, and as sous chef at 51-51 Sloane Avenue where his customers included Wham!, Darryl Hannah and John Cleese. He successfully opened and headed up the kitchens of Hampshire’s first gastro pub, The Gamekeeper’s, and Sands, which featured in OK magazine.

He began his career at a family-run restaurant in Christchurch, Dorset, where all the breads, pastas, sauces and desserts were made in-house. The experience gave him a taste for Italian cuisine and he travelled to Italy with his now-wife Elyse, working in restaurants in Turin.

Over the years he’s worked in a variety of restaurants, ranging from French fine dining to American style diners.

We feel very lucky to have Steve, with all his varied knowledge and experience, designing our delicious cafe lunch menus and working on Fresha’s research and development.
